Next Theology on Tap! May 10

Join us for Theology on Tap at the Ground Round on Tuesday May 10th at 7pm. Mary Forman, OSB will present on foundational women in the Church as a counterpart to last month's discussion on the Patristics.Feel free to bring questions! Join us for drinks/dinner/conversation and fun. Feel free to bring a friend or come for great company.

An overview:
In the history of women leaders in the church there are a number of women, who served as presiders of house churches in the first generations of Christianity. In the next era after Christianity was approved as a religion of the empire, women called “ammas” emerged as leaders of prayer groups, Bible study groups, spiritual directors and leaders of ascetical/monastic communities. After an opening overview on some of these significant women and their contributions, implications of these contributions can be explored and dialogued.

We hope to see you there!
