December ToT: RCIA for Cradle Catholics
Maybe you had a powerful conversion experience and joined the church through RCIA just recently. Or, perhaps you've been Catholic since infancy and for just as long, have been perplexed by RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults); adults leaving during Mass to discuss Scripture, being 'elected,' and grown-up baptisms at Easter vigil. If you fit into either category, you'll enjoy hearing Fr. Nicholas Becker, OSB present "RCIA for cradle Catholics." Come, hear about one of the most beuatiful ministries of the church and get to the bottom of some commonly-misunderstood traditions.
Hope to see you at the Ground Round at 7 pm on December 14, 2010.

Join us
Sunday November 28 at 6 pm the Poor Clare sisters of Sauk Rapids have invited the St. Cloud Theology on Tap group to visit them at their convent. The poor Clares live a cloistered life (meaning, their ministry is prayer and takes place primarily in the convent walls). Generally only a handful of nuns meet with visitors--this is a unique invitation!
"The first thing you need to know is that a Poor Clare is a nun - meaning that she lives in one monastery (usually) for her whole life. She takes solemn vows that can only be dispensed by Rome. BUT the second thing you have to know - is that a Poor Clare Nun is not a Benedictine, Dominican, Visitation or Carmelite nun. She is a Poor Clare nun. There is a world of difference between these other beautiful orders and Poor Clares.NO, not all nuns are alike." Click here for more info.
If you'll be back from Thanksgiving travels and can plan to be a part of this visit, you will be glad you did. Following the visit, we'll stop for dinner in Sauk Rapids. Please e-mail saintcloudtot@gmail.com so that we can plan car pooling arrangments as there is limited parking. Hope you can make it!
